Directions to Camp Hat Creek

From the North (Lynchburg Area) Follow U.S. 501 South through Rustburg and Gladys. When your reach William Campbell High School, continue approximately 1 mile to Va. Route 605, Swinging Bridge Road. Turn left onto Va. 605 and travel 4 miles to Va. 601, Hat Creek Road. Turn left on Va. 601 and travel 2 miles to Camp Hat Creek entrance on the left.

From the North (Appomattox Area) Follow VA 24 to Rustburg and U.S. 501. Follow the directions above from Lynchburg Area.
From the East (Charlotte Court House Area) Take VA 40 west and look for the Falling River Baptist Church on the right. Just beyond the church, turn right onto Va. 605 (Swinging Bridge Road). Travel on Va. 605 for 1 mile, then turn Right onto Va. 601 (Hat Creek Road). Travel 2 miles to the Camp Hat Creek entrance on the left.
From the West (Gretna, U.S. 29 and Rocky Mount area) Take VA 40 East to U.S. 501 just south of Brookneal. Turn left and follow U.S. 501 for 2 miles to Brookneal. Turn right onto VA 40 at the traffic light just after the RR tracks. Follow VA 40 for 3 miles and look for Edward's General Store, then turn left on Va. 605 (Swinging Bridge Road). Travel on Va. 605 for 1 mile, then turn Right onto Va. 601 (Hat Creek Road). Travel 2 miles to the Camp Hat Creek entrance on the left.
From the South (South Boston area). Follow U.S. 501 north to Brookneal. Turn right on VA 40 at the traffic light, just after the RR tracks. Follow VA 40 for 3 miles and look for Edward's General Store, then turn left on Va. 605 (Swinging Bridge Road). Travel on Va. 605 for 1 mile, then turn Right onto Va. 601 (Hat Creek Road). From Roanoke and Blacksburg The easiest and quickest route is to take U.S. 460 to Lynchburg and U.S. 501 South, then follow the above directions from Lynchburg. Allow 1 hour & 45 minutes from Roanoke.
The more scenic route is to take VA 24 from Vinton to U.S. 501 just south of Rustburg, turn right onto U.S. 501 and follow the above directions from Lynchburg.
