Camp Facilities Description
Camp Map
Why the name "Hat Creek"?
- Hogans
- These cabin-like buildings have a capacity of 7 to 10 people
each. Four of hogans are screened and primarily used in warm
weather. Five are heated and can be used throughout the
year. The hogans consist of one room with bunk beds, and
bathroom facilities are located in centralized bathhouses. There is
a fire circle centrally located to each hogan. Youth groups,
Scouts and young adult groups typically use these buildings as well
as the Lodge for overnight retreats.
- Lodge
- The lodge is a large cinderblock building with a main
meeting/dining room, large fireplace, restrooms, and a fully
equipped kitchen. This facility is perfect for group meals and
meetings up to 125 people. It also has a screened porch on the
lake side of the building.
- Chapel
- The chapel is an amphitheater overlooking Lake Bea. It is used
for programs and performances during summer camp. It is also available
for worship services for groups using the camp.
- Kris Kin Farmhouse
- This rustic two-story house contains bunk beds for 20 people,
divided among two rooms. It has several small gathering rooms
as well as a fully equipped kitchen. A bathhouse is located
directly outside the building. The farmhouse is popular with
young people, particularly because of its oddities and
uniqueness. Outside there is a volleyball court and fire
circle.
- Retreat Center
- The Retreat Center is a two-story fully air conditioned
conference building that contains bedroom with sleeping for 40
people. Meals are provided for groups of 15 or more, and
there are kitchenettes available for those who wish to provide for
themselves. There is a spacious meeting room upstairs, and
one smaller conference room available downstairs. The dining
area is located downstairs. The Retreat Center is
handicapped accessible and is used by adult groups for overnight
retreats, day business meetings, family reunions, and more.
See the Retreat Center brochure for more information. The
Retreat Center is available all year.
- Picnic Shelter
- Picnic Shelter #1 has a stone fireplace, electricity and
drinking water. Modern restrooms are located near by and the
swimming lake is a short walk down the hill. Picnic Shelter
#2 is more rustic, there is no electricity and the modern
restrooms are located near the Hogans. Both Picnic Shelters
are ideal for church outings and family gatherings.
- Tree Houses
- There are two tree houses, both located near Lake Bea and are
built approximately 12 feet above the ground on large poles.
The tree houses have stairs and railing for your safety. The
large tree house can sleep up to 16 people and the small tree
house can sleep up to 8 people. These buildings are great
for youth and overnight adventures (Scouts love them). There
is no electricity or running water. Modern restrooms are
located near the Hogans. There is a campfire circle located
nearby.
